Only dumb fux take that choice, you can do both, you don't have to sell out to sell records, and only you know if you sold out. I see your still debating El?? Personally, when people WORK for someone else period your "selling out"! I just don't know why people seem to think music is so different from every other profession. Relax, I don't think most people would be sayin" sh!t if we were talking about some one making 6 figures at a corp. being a lawyer, news reporter etc... and plus "selling out" is VERY relative. And you live in a controlled environment (Government) when you start actually "making your own rules" you won't be so visible. So I guess YOU don't pay taxes or any other bills or use US currency, being that you make your own rules. Just be cool and do whats best for you and yours. No one on these boards are paying your bills or insurance for your children, so fu@k'em! Carry On!!

I'm not stressing people that talk about selling out, nor am I on people for doing so, but when you compromise your integrity you know it you feel it, and it feels like shit. But making music should never be like that, hell, I'll do a teletubbies movie, I don;t give a ****, as long as I'm macking music I'll be cool. If they ask for a clone of some hit song or whatever I will either refuse it or use that as a starting point and take it somewhere else.

See, I dont make hip hop, I make music, any kind of music. If I cared what the forum thinks I'd post beats. But being a musician is more like being a sculptor or a painter than being a lawyer or an accountant, that's why we have so many uneducated people involved. Not that it takes a good education to make music, but all the people in the shytty education system here see it as the easiest way to become rich and famous without going to college, and would probably rather be stock holders collecting dividends than beatmakers or rappers, as long as they get the cash. It's different when you love it, and many of the richest cats do love it.

Come on Doc, you know what I mean, be true to yourself and know what you are giving up and why. It's like when rappers make love songs or BS duets, you know they got forced because of the contract, it isn't their fault, so you can say they sold out, and it def hits them hard when they realize it. It really blows, but hell, they are paid, their family is good, so if you're gonna be their dancing pet you might as well live well. but if you are good, you can make them dance for you. I've seen it done and it takes a while, but it is amazing to see

Yo D-Man or Elm, I was never able to get a hold of that Pete Rock beat tape. When I logged on soulseek lastweek D-man was never logged in so I couldnt download it. Can anyone of guys assist?

damn whatever happend to that cat that had the beat tapes? I had an old 1996 Fanatik beat tape from him and it was pretty ill....

more sample time on the SP

just a wild idea here. but mabye he samples the sound in to the S-950 first
in a specific sample rate an then mididump then from the S-950 to the SP and save memory/sample time that way.

This is just a wild idea i had.... i might try that idea and see what's happend....
