Technical questions for the MPC2000xl and the MPC2000

so i have an mpc 2000xl w/ a 100 mb zip drive. i dont especially enjoy choppin in the mpc. adn it takes forever to load up samples from a floppy disc. so i was wondering if I could get a USB zip drive to save samples on my computer and use that disc for the SCSI zip drive. i know its probably a stupid question, but i was just wondering b4 i spent the money for the zip . Im not sure if there will be a problem with formatting. thanks in advance

yes, format the disc ZIP on the PC and it will work in both.

Specifically fat16 format, ONLY use 8 or less characters for your filenames.

Sample dump via midi is way slower than transfer via zip drive.
