That could be your problem right there. If you go in and change the setting to slave and make the mp the master you should be o.k.Just keep the mtc and frames the same.

u can do that but thats not what he is trying to do.... of course like i have my MPC being controlled by Pro Tools... i think it has something to do with the MIDI Footcontroller settings... when performing wit my MPC i use to can set it up to be controlled from another sequencer/sampler that could make it record and play, or just play, but i havent had a chance to test it with Pro Tools, maybe i can let you know how that comes if i get the chance to play wit it by tomorrow

I use a little boss 4 tracker br-532 and set the sync mode to MTC 30 frames (boss is master) and connect the midi out of the br-532 to the midi a in of my mpc 2kxl. in the sync screen of the mpc I set the midi sinc IN to midi input A and set the type to MIDI TIME CODE with a frame RATE of 30 (the same rate as in the BR-532). When I press the record button on the br-532 it waits until I press the play key to start recording. When I now press the play key on the br-532 the mpc start to play automatically. I'm sure the same thing will work for the vs-2400.
