Technical questions for the MPC2000xl and the MPC2000

Hello all. I have a classic 2000, I bought about a month ago. This forum has helped a lot. The search function is kinda wierd but it works and the manual goes to bed every night with me.

I have been successful with the mpc as the master, and controling Abelton Live 4.0, rewired to Reason 3.0.

With different devices in Reason and Vsts in Live. All midi recorded in the Mp and then recording the mix in Live for export.

My Problem lies in the ability to use the Dr. Rex Player.
When I paste the slices in the track window in Reason and play back my 8 bars, the rex just doesn't seemed synced. I also found it interesting that the tempo read out fluctuates in reason when the Mp is the master.

I am using midi time clock sync, because I also have an electribe I like to sync as well

Any help or clarification would be greatly appreciated, as is this forum.

thats more of a REASON issue of which your gonna need a REASON forum for, but i can tell you that the REX player is about the TEMPO and it needs to setup right in REX to begin with. if it aint the right tempo to start with it will play a bit weird with MPC or not. get that sample in to the right BPM and it should work.

If you're using Digidesign hardware, the digi core audio drivers suck and there's latency galore. I tried to sequence some rex files in the DR. Rex from my MPC and you could notice the latency.

What I was talking about was a little different.

I am using Live 4, and reason rewired. The MPC 2000 is the master, controlling Live and therefore Reason. I can do alot with this setup, use VST's, use the instruments in Reason, even play rex slices, no problem.

The problem is when I try to play a rex file in reason along with my seq. Any rex file, I started experimenting with the factory ones first. If I take a rex paste the slices in the seq window in reason, all timing lining up, The rex will not play in sinc, it is off very slightly. Also the same is true for me with dragging audio clips on top of my seq in Live.

It is kinda frustrating at times.

I have found a work around, which is to record everything in Live, disable EXT control in Live and adjust the timing on the track in Live. Then I can drag other audio on top of and use the rex machine

I would like to incorporate playing rex loops and audio loops in this set up, as far as the writing process as mentioned above.

Any help would be greatly apprec.
