new to this

i wanna get a good setup for music production and wanted to know what yall thought..

i been thinkin about an mpc4000 which is lookin good 2 me rite now, seems like the best thing..

but im kinda still lost to be honest.. what else would i need, i know i'd need a good keyboard probably..but.. im completely new to this and researching like crazy and need some help..

what would my best bet be to get a good home-studio type setup to create and EQ/mix my beats?? i'd also like to sample, from records or old MP3's i can download or however i can do it, but im new to that to..

can anyone help me out? like i said im feelin the MPC4000 rite now, idc if it's advanced or whatever i'll sit with the manual for a year straight if i have to, to learn it, i don't care, what would be my best bet tho? thanx

talent and research, the 4000 is fine buy may be overkill, instead of asking us, go to the music shop and try it out

Welcome to the forums, if I were just getting into beats and wanted a 4000 I would do like you said, I would read the manual while pushing the buttons I read about and seeing what the MPC does when I push em. That's how I learned my ASR and 2kxl. It helps alot.

Is there a music store near you with a 4k on display maybe you can mess with and see if it fits your needs or whatever?

Best bet imo, stik with the 4k stand alone for now until your skills increase enough to warrant you buying/obtaining more gear. Stand alone it's WAY more than capable of making hot beats and such.

u sure a good keyboard and a turntable wouldn't be good too? cuz tha Motif and Roland Fantom keyboards i been lookin at have crazy amounts of noises, etc u can use, which seems tight to me. then u get a turntable and u can go crate diggin and sample off old records. wouldn't that be better to have an mp, turntable, and a keyboard, rather than just an mp?

and then on the turntables.. what is a good turntable u think where u won't be scratching, isn't it like a direct drive turntable or sumthin? i been lookin at stanton turntables, but i don't understand them as much i'd like to. u can hook up a direct drive turntable directly to the mpc4000 and transfer the sounds off the record to it rite? and whats the best turntables? thanx

I thnk your looking for a belt drive turntable. Try to get a cheap numark.

I can do damage on a 4k only, and you can too.
A turntable, that's fine also.
A keyboard that's fine also.

kool deal, is there enuff noises, etc on the mpc itself to make bangin tracks w/o it bein redundant?

Don't get an MPC if you want preset sounds and shit.

MPC has NO sounds in it.

then how u gonna make tracks w/o a keyboard or somethin to get your sounds from??

Records, Sample Disks, DVDs, CDs.....etc

yeah a lot of US on here don't use any other external sources for oursounds expect sampleing. I have a soundmodule, but I hardly ever use it unless I just can't find what I'm looking for out of the record I"m sampling, but there is more than one way to make a track. Try add see what your style is. I prefer to use records for ever sound and only use the keyboard as hotsauce, but remember food that is cooked well doesn't need any other seasoning.
