Post up what soundcard you use, which you would use if you could take your pick of the litter and what you do and dont like about your current soundcard (noisy inputs, bad midi timing etc.)

cheap for it's kind i've thought(422e), never had problems with it
24bit/96khz, 8 1/4" unbalanced output ins & outs, 2 balanced XLR ins & outs, 2xmidi out, 1 midi in, optical and coaxial ins & outs, phantom power
then again an amateur like myself doesn't find problems anywhere :D

if i could choose digi002 of course
aaww man digidesign.com should be rated R

I use the Echo Mia and the Digi 001. My echo has no midi and only 2ins and 2 outs + s/pdif. It sounds good and clean. The digi001 is cool as it has 8 ins/outs and you can use the adat lightpipe for 8 more inputs. the only problem with it is the 2 pre-amps and ad/da converters are considered questionable by most Protools user , but i find them to be okay. Good card for the money though. If i could pick any card probably a digi 002 or something with great pre-amps on them.

I currently use the Quattro. It sounds good. Never had a problem with it as of yet. But if I could take my pick I would get the Motu 828 mkII.

Uno/1

Same here. I like the quattro, the only problem is you can't expand. I'm getting to the point where i could use some more inputs now.

the audio card that came with my HP....it has no bump whatsoever but it works for now....

what I really want is one of them there Digi 002 with a mac g5 running OSX and Reason and a dumbfast XP PC running Gigasampler, Soundforge, Acid, and Final Scratch....of course, if I got all this, i'd hafta quit my job, break up with my girl, sell the kids, get a cabin out in Wyoming somewhere so she couldnt find me and just pump out beats every damn day, yow mean?

MOTU 828, the first version. gets the job done. has 2 pres, 8 analog i/o, adat optical i/o and a couple of other things. i'd hook up some apogee converters if i had the loot, but obviously i dont. i'd hook a digi 002 as well, soundcard, midi, control surface all in one? forget about it, that thing is dope.

I got an Echo Layla 24/96 rackmount, it has midi in/outs and 8 audio in/outs. The quality is pretty straight and I never had any problems with it.
