btw, Thier is some science to what you said Elma, irregardless, pro studio or home studio, almost everyone I know that has a mid sized console, or something vintage in they're rack, refuses to shut it on and off on a daily basis. Maybe every couple weeks, or couple months, but that really does seem to be the trend as far as I can tell..

This topis is interesting though. Im'a call some people who are heavy on the geekery and get the nerded out explanations on why to, or why not to leeave your equipment "cool runnin".

Nah man, heat is Public enemy number one. I know EE's that designed for API, I'll ask them see what they say about consoles, but heat is bad for all electronics. If you got AC all the time you could be alright but you are wearing out your parts faster. You're more likely to run it into the ground that way, where as a power up failure is a fuse or transistor at most. Backlights will definitly suffer.
