for earthmorphosis and all mpc4k users!
sorry it's been a while i've been busy!we talked about creating mpc groove templates for p.tools or logic! this is a simple thing and you can do it yourself!on the mpc create a seq and on trk 1 play a sixteenth hi-hat pattern and copy that trk 21 times, one for each swing quantize of the mpc!now proceed to quantize each trk with the swing quantizes!e.g. trk 1, 50% swing, trk 2, 51% swing, trk 3, 52% swing etc, till you get to 70% swing, this should take up 21 traks!save that seq to a folder on the mpc and then drag it on your mac desktop via aksy. now import that as a midi file to p.tools or logic!each of those traks now has the swing info from the mpc!in logic all you have to do in your autoload is bring up the midi file as a new song and drag the midi info on the autoload page! now highlight trk one and name it mpc 50% and go to groove templates and select new groove template!thats it!now this gets added to your quantize parameters on your left!proceed to do the same for each swing quantize and it will keep adding to the list! now save your autoload and when you boot up the program you have your mpc swing templates ready to go! not sure how all this is done on p.tools if your still using p.tools! but i would imagine it shouldn't be to complicated! it works well and saves alot of time guessing!
hope this helps you earthmorphosis and all the mpc4k users who also use a pc to program keys!
when the beat is fat and it swings it's an mpc.
