Ok, so I am on ebay one night while I am cheifing that good green. I come across a listing for MPC 2K classic. the listing advised that the owner is a drummer and could not get the unit to produce any sounds. He advised that the screen "comes on" and the play, record and overdub buttons light up but that it. The listing started at $50.00, but he wrote at the bottom of the page that he would take offers. So I emailed him and offered $60.00. He said that since he could not verify that the unit is %100 functional he'll end the auction for $60.00 plus shipping. So I get the unit in the mail. Put the OS disk in and turn it on. The unit powers up, but the screen is unreadable and the OS does not load properly (The play, record and overdub buttons did light up, they just all lit up at the same time and would not shut off). So I'm like great, I got jerked. But it was only $60.00 so **** it. So I start cheifing the greeney green again and something said, download the latest OS and put it on a fresh disk (I dont know who said that because I was alone at the time, but anyway). I boot with the new OS disk and voila it boots. So I'm like aiight we might be in business. So I call up EPR electronics in Tampa and cop a LCD screen for $149.99, installed it and BANG. Fully functional MPC classic for $60.00 + $149.99 = $209.99 What a bargain.
