Technical questions for the MPC2000xl and the MPC2000

can the MPC2000XL be set to sample at lower sampling rates, or is it set to sample at 16 bit/44.1kHz only??? i know i can just sample then just convert it later with "resample" but is it possible to just set it to 12 or 8 bit instead?
on that note.. what are the typical frequencies for 8 and 12 bit.. (example 16 bit is 44.1 kHz, what is the kHz for 8 and 12 bit?) :P

Aite check it man, to resample and convert to 8 or 12 bit all you have to do is hold shift and #5 (trim), choose the sound that you want to resample, press open window, convert, convert:re-sample, hit NEXT, then on the second row where it says "NEW BIT", you can resample from 16, 12, and 8 bit, once you've decided hit "DO IT" and it'll resample your ish to a lower bit. This will work, good luck...peace

it is my understanding that the sample rate doesnt have to change with the bit rate. so you can have different c ombos like 12/44.1 or 16/44.1 or 16/48 or 24/48. obviously you cant do 24 or 48 in the mpc, but you get the point. i dont think the sample rate has to change. it can, but it is up to you when you resample. i dont think you can change the bit rate on the way in either, you have to resample it.

From what I understand and have experimented
with in the past, Mesh is right on the money..
