MPC 60 II v. 3.10 with s950 AGAINST MPC 60 II v. 2.12

Ok.. this one is a real tricky one. I have an MPC 60 II v. 3.10 triggering an s950 and my friend uses an MPC 60 II v. 2.12 triggering an s950 as well.

So he brought a disk with sounds to load into the s950 and a disk for the MPC 60. He loaded his parameters into my MPC (keeping in mind again that I have the upgraded OS and he has v. 2.12) and although my s950 was receiving midi, it was not triggering the pads in the right order with the right keygroups as his parameters and the s950 was set to do.

Can anyone provide guidance on how I can make my OS 3.10 work with his parameters or why my pads are triggering sounds as he has his keygroups assigned in the s950?

what are the midi tracks set to? Maybe the midi note number assignmen? is their a parameter file for the 2.12 OS?

I'm sure the manual touches on this.

Yeah it's obvious that the pads are not properly calibrated. I for some odd reason had trouble opening a 2.6 OS disk on my 3.10

Wasn't 2.14 the last OS? THere was a 2.6 OS, that's pretty cool.

yeah, I've had trouble with some disks, but often it;s because the disk drive might be out of calibration, so other drives have trouble reading that disk when the drive that created it can read it fine, and floppies can go bad.

Whats good? Did you get your 60 back from forat yet? How is that output upgrade?

The disks are working just fine. I will try the pad assigments suggestion but could you please provide more details. I tried everything I found in the manual to no avail.

The Details are in the manuals and in the machines, we don;t have them. You need to compare both manuals, vers. 2 and vers. 3 and how it works to control an external unit, what midi channel he uses for his 950 at home etc. We really can';t help you any more, you just have to read both manuals and see what works, we'd just be guessing. Then when you figure it out let us know what fixed it because none of us have this kind of problem.
