another OS question

I've done a few searches on here, but does anyone have a good link to the differences between OS systems?

also, is there a better one than another? theoretically the latest one is the most refined, but i don't want any bugs from a crappy OS. if there is one that is relatively bug-free that ISNT the latest, but its better, does anyone have a copy of the file?

I have the latest os and it works fine 4 myself, but I'm jus responding b/c I was wondering why your askin?

you can get any of the os'es from akai site, 1.02 onwards

would however seem that the latest is the greatest, 1.07

how do you update the OS? do you have to connect the MPC to your computer and copy the .bin file into a certain directory/folder??

it has instructions on the akai site, but yeah you just turn it on while pressing window after you've loaded the os file and a screen should come up stating the info with an option to press record to do it

I notice the sequencer timing (especially for looping) is better in os 7 than 6. Its cut the number of "takes" I do in more than half

i never updated to 1.07 cause it seemed like a bogus upgrade to shut everybody up about the zoning upgrade. plus most people that have complained about random bugs seemed to have 1.07 (but that could have been cause most people upgraded to it, or just user error.....)

i never heard anyone say it improved the sequencer timing.
anyone else notice this?
