OK, I rip a song to my hard-drive, load it into SoundForge, extract a loop, and save it. After I transfered it to my 1K and assigned it to one of the pads, when I hit it, it is sped up. I know I can just lower the pitch, but I want to know why this happening.

Its probably at 11000 or 22000 (or whatever the exact number is) sample rate. Make sure its 44100 (before you stick itin MPC) and it should play right pitch.

Did you check? Do you check even before you ask or do you just ask and don't check for yourself? then again, you don't know what to check for do you? It's cool.

Sound Forge properties will tell you what you wanna know.

There's no need to right-click and view properties... if you look at the bottom-right of the main application window in Sound Forge it always displays the sample-rate, bit-depth, and the mono/stereo status of the currently selected file (as well as the sample length in min:secs: and your total remaining diskspace).

@Hypes

Beat Conductor - "OK, I rip a song to my hard-drive, load it into SoundForge", therefore reading this concludes that YOUR wannabe situational comment is irrelevant homeboy.

sohcahtoa and penfold are on point.

Beat Conductor, did you find what you needed yet, if not, holla back and maybe we can figure something else out. Excuse my comments earlier on this thread if YOU (not anyone else) thought I was being foul and such.

on sound forge, when you click save as

a window opens where you put the name of the wave
and right under that you can choose what format and what sample rate

you can choose from .wav to mp3 to whatever just

choose .wav and 44.1 stereo

and you should be good homie...

:roll: :roll: :roll: :roll: :roll: :roll: :roll: :roll:
