There is an old saying called "Show and Prove".

All this talking gets old. How about we all post beats and call it a day from there. Boogie post, Drumatic post, Philly Stress POST, Lo Pass Filter Post, Elmacaco post, I'll post and any other person that had something to say in this last month's weak threads about "your gear ain't good enough" post some beats. How about we call the deadline by next sunday afternoon and then silence this nonsense.

I rock the MPC 60, S950, W-30, MPC 3k, Micro Korg, and a couple other goodies so I have slightly seen the best of both worlds.

if i can make a beat on it within an hour and a half, anyone can.

Key words "the beat was wack as fu@k (I assume)". That is a sentence I don't have time for anymore!!! You proved my point. Time is money, when I'm crafting a beat the sh!t has to have weight to it right off the bat, if NOT it gets deleted quicklie, period!!! As I said before thats just how I roll, you don't have to agree with my methods but I don't have to listen to people tell me "The Sp-1200 is EASY to use" when their making WACK sh!t...

And why should we post beats??? Did I mess something??? Whats that going to prove??? Howabout this: The first person to make more than $10,000 selling beats wins... Who gives a fu@k about beat battles??? A waste of time...

totally, doc, who wants to deal with that that pesky, bothersome "hip hop culture is founded on battling" thing, when there's money to be made?????

Why should we strive to seek elevation through competition? it's much easier to write long-winded internet posts in forums about how "all hip hop sounds the same".

All you people that still hold some value in hip hop's cultural commandments (Thou shalt show and prove when called out, thou shalt be ready to battle) need to shut up and stop whining, the man is right, there is money to be made and we don't have time for such egotistical masturbations.

(I disagree with your viewpoints doc, but I like your beats, so don't get it twisted. YOU actually have the balls to post your beats. I dont wanna phillystress any names or anything, but there are people who talk as much yang as you do on this board, yet dont make a living off of hip hop nor do they even have the balls to show ONE beat theyve made. Feel me?)

do you want some midol? you posted earlier in the thread that the sp-12 is "difficult to use" or has an "archaic interface" or some shit. i was only responding to that.

OK, all yall motherfokers that are just here to cause trouble get the fock out of this forum, go to off topic where that shyt flies, we're supposed to be 'sharing your knowledge on these two classic MPC's' not blatently showing our ignorance and causing fights cuz we don;t have anything else to do. Doc, go play your games elsewhere, I know your sport, but I actually get something out of this section, so please don;t screw it up like the rest of the board is.

Philly is kinda making sence again. I am not a kid, nor am I making any rules. Not everybody sees the true potential in gear. they get their toe wet and the write it off for x reason and spend their time elsewhere, following some other trend. Most People had the same opinions about the 808 and 909 when the linn drum came out, then some broke as musicians bought them dirt cheap and created house with them. Just a few years ago everyone was harping about how dated the 808 sounds and how the sound is dead, then lil jon and the whole south thing happens with overt 808 all over it. people who say get with the times are almost always wrong, people who say they dont make them like they used to are almost always right.

Also philly, the newest thing in the gear list in your sig is 11 years old, you are not using modern shyt, so be careful who you side with ;) the 3000 has a great rep but it's hype is going down now that the 1000 and 4000 are out. Competing with the 2000 was easy comparitavely, but both the 1000 and 4000 have better interfaces than the 2000, so the 3000's edge with pro's is slowly disapearing. You'll see, they are alrerady dropping in price.

Still amazing machine, best OS ever IMO and probably the best hardware sequencer ever, but they opinion of the people at large shows some waning interest, so you'll hear the same BS people talk about the 60 without knowing the fiorst thing about it being talked about the 3000, just like they did the 808, they were wring then, and they are wrong now. Why do people care so much that I use Old gear? That I prefer it? I don;t care what you use, but so many cats with 2000's or 1000's come over here to start trouble about the 60 and SP, WTF? yall jealous of what you don't understand?

Actually El, THIS section is NOT about the SP-1200, it's about the 60 and 3000 MPC series. Some of ya'll turned it into a 12-bit section. Sh!t this isn't even a EMU forum, so I guess we shouldn't talk about SP's?? Come on man, thats what I'm talking about. Just make good music and be quiet!!! If people ask for opinions give'em, if they ask for help give'em. It's really that simple. If don't agree with people, voice yourself and let it go. NO ONE is going to change a REAL producers equipment list or the way the produce because of a forum discussion, and if you are influenced by talking you've already lost...

And I said the SP-1200 is hard to use for ME!!! Read the whole comment and not pick out what you want please...

Thanks for stating what I clearly stated in the beginning of my post. You love straw man arguments don't you?

well its not a triton motif fantom PT forum either but yall talk more about them than mpc's.

Come on man, thats what I'm talking about. Just make good music and be quiet!!!

take your own advice, we both know you just come here to blow off steam, I'm askin you nicely to leave the section that keeps me here alone so it doesn't turn into crap like the rest of the forum.

If people ask for opinions give'em, if they ask for help give'em. It's really that simple. If don't agree with people, voice yourself and let it go.

I rarely ask questions or for help, I am tired of opinions that are based on cursory knowledge or limited experience, or those that are not backed up by facts or reasons, beats don't back up arguments, well, maybe for idiots.

NO ONE is going to change a REAL producers equipment list or the way the produce because of a forum discussion, and if you are influenced by talking you've already lost...

well then I suppose real producers don't have time for starting petty arguments on forums?

come on doc, stop playin dumb and keepin shyt ignorant for your own enertainment, you can contribute really well but most of the time it seems you'd rather talk down to people for kicks.

Come on Elm, it's all love baby, It's just funny how people talk about the game and never even sniffed it let alone been signed to a contract!!! And the Hiphop Purists, I don't know man they hurt Hiphop just as bad as commercial Hiphop...

elmacaco wrote:I am tired of opinions that are based on cursory knowledge or limited experience, or those that are not backed up by facts or reasons, beats don't back up arguments, well, maybe for idiots.

Opinions rule the world, sorry. Limited experience (I hope your NOT talking about the SP-1200) I actually have one, had it since 1991 actually and worked it to death, YOU've only borrowed one for a half hour. Who has limited what??? Facts in music??? Damn that sucks for you!!! And my opinion is reason enough, I don't have to see things YOUR way to backup how I feel about a piece of equipment. :? And you can have all the vintage, I'm in the geek club because the golden era used this equipment all you want. Most of these cats don't used it even close to the people their talking about...
