Need some tips on sequencing and track arranging!

What's up? Well, I showed my beats to a pretty respected rapper and the feedback I got was "You 14 son! Thats mad young! Your beats sound good but need some touching up mainly in sequecing. The sounds need to flow smoother. etc etc blah blah." So basically he gave some tips on how most rappers like their beats. He said built the track up around 4-8 bar intro, then drop some elements and then bring them back for the hook. He aint the first either to tell me I need to work on my sequencing. I've tried working on but I think its part of my impatience (my mom is working with me on that lol) but I've got to work on it if I want to do anything with this music stuff. So I'm looking for any kind of tips the more expierence people can give to a youngster. Anything about sequencing, track arrangement, or anything to do with stuff like that I would be so happy. for starters...
drums:
sample breaks chop em up, get drum machine sounds(free on the net)
mix different kicks together, individually eq'd and filtered, the same with hats and snares (claps, shakes or whatever)
but most importantly KEEP IT SIMPLE!

samples:
sample from 1 song (only 1, not more)
use many samples, chop them up in many different ways
next to your chopped up samples
reverse the original song and chopp it up again
now that you have a billion and one pieces load them in your mpc

make many programs with different pitches and filters with the samples you got from that one song.. later maybe you can get into filter automation and use only one program
but for now, use different programs for basslines, samples and hooks)

make a loop then change it, then rearrange it, and change it again and again, till u end up with a lot of sequences

then see what u can do with them in song mode, ( u'll probably use only a few, and probably make new ones as u are arranging the song)
again remember: KEEP IT SIMPLE!

make hooks! use effects use filters use different drum patterns...
try not using time correct too much, keep it raw...
have fun with it...
focus on construction and design as a final stage, dont make a song that's 5 minutes long
speak your mind, heart and soul, not only in the loop but in the song...
remember if you are the maestro here, you want everything to be right, if anything sounds like it is dragging: DELETE IT.

ry to build confidence, dont think that if you lose a loop o beat you cant make a better one
be on attack-mode and experiment, use chorus-effects, use delay and reverb as a final touch after slight compression and eq, maybe later you will automate your effects like the delay and reverb with the filters to add atmospheric background elements, so your song doesnt stay restricted to an arrangement of "bars"

remember: KEEP IT SIMPLE!
