Problems with Sandisk cards

anyone have problems with sandisk cf cards??

I got a 256 one (the one with red and blue on it) and its A PEICE OF SHIT!

for real , have the time it don't read right , and the other half it doesn't read at all
or it will start loading and just stop
when I have the akai cf card in , there are no problems(except the fact it only holds 32 mb)

I need to find a card that is RELIABLE

did you format the sandisk on the mpc?

I have 3 sandisk cards and i've never had a problem with them.

I have other brand cards but they were from promotions. if i were to buy CF cards, i would buy only sandisk cards. they are very reliable.

I have two SanDisk cards, 64 and 128 mb and they are both unreliable. Files are missing, the extension of wav files changes suddenly so they are no longer recognised as wavs.
When I test them in my pc windows says there's nothing wrong with the cards. Damn.

i would use sandisk before anything else

had lots of probs with my sandisk also, but nothing to debilitating

I used a SanDisk 512MB and it was unreliable. Most of the time after copying files to it, it would freeze up my MPC when it would try to load from the card. It wasn't a corrupt file issue, because it would happen with random files that were otherwise fine when copied to the included 32MB Demo card.

My advise would be to stay away from SanDisk. But apparently some people have had no problems with that brand, so your mileage may vary.

I also have a scandisk 512mb card and have never had a problem w/ my card.

I'm using a Kingston 512MB card... It's flawless!

all the ones that dont work please provide the name and model\serial number please in my RAM and CF thread. thankyou.

also contact SANDISK customer support they will replace free of charge.

I use a 2 gig sandisk CF. No problems here either.

I bought a lexar 256. And I hate it. If im lucky I can drop files from it onto my comp. And It doesnt let me save anything on it. So basically whatever is on it right now. It's there for life.

So should I be picking up a sandisk?or kingston??Cause Im not paying for a akai one. i dont feel like paying out of my ass

i agree. last week i set up a program after i formated my 256 sandisk card ON THE PC. i panicked for about 1 minute until i realized that i had to format the card ON THE MPC. then all was right with the world

i begining to think its lack ok pc knowledge why heads have this problem.

need to knows about CF cards...

MPC is FAT formaet so the CF card has to be formatted FAT. done on pc or MPc it will work. otherwise u have purchased a faulty CF card, demand a refund.

You're confusing the Compact Flash cards that are used for saving/backing up data with the internal RAM that is used for storing samples in memory.. Akai doesn't make CF cards, except for the 32 mb cf card that actually does come with a brand new machine.

They do however make an exm128 RAM which you would be paying out the ass for, and would be better off getting a kingston.
