Exchange tips and tricks for the Akai MPC4000

I have a G5, MPC4000 and Aksys. I want to use Recycle as my sample editor. I have chosen Recycle as the sample editor under the <File> pull down menu in Aksys.
However everytime I try to double click on a sample inside of the 4k's harddrive I get the following message:
"You have not chosen an application to use as your sample editor. Press [Choose...] to choose a sample editor..."

Then I choose the Recycle application inside of my Apllications folder and nothing happens. When I try to double click on the sample again or another sample I get the same run around.

Is there any way to resolve this issue? Recycle used to work fine as an editor in earlier versions of Aksys when I had a G4. Have any of you had this same problem??? This is really frustrating.

I trashed all instances of Aksys, then reinstalled fresh, trashed em again and installed an older version. Nothing seems to work. I even updated my MPC4k OS to 7.1. Still no dice!

Sorry I can't help, but I have the same setup and tried everything like you said and I get the same error. The only Editors that would open was DSP-Quattro when I chose it as the editor. Sounds like it is a bug.

Not that it's good to hear but since I thought I thought maybe I was losing my mind then yeah it's comforting to know that my computer isn't the only one that's malfunctioning over this issue.

So do you guys just drag and drop samples to a folder on your desktop, then open em up? That's what I've been doing. What's you're work around?
