1. Last night after alot of sampling I went to save over the .aps file I already had loaded and after pressing shift + save (or load) it said 'wrong disk' and just froze up . None of the buttons did anything, mainscreen, open window etc . So I left it for about 15 mins and went back to try it but with no luck .
Is there any particular reason why this error comes up?
I read a thread a few days ago where someone was saying how their XL would freeze if they did alot of program editing without saving ... is this it ? / Is that a known problem ?

2 . When I had my zip drive installed I used to eject the disk before I turned the mpc off, only because I heard that leaving the disk in all the time (ie. while turning on / off) wasn't a good thing to do . Is there anything wrong with leave a compact flash card inside permanently, and only really taking it out occasionally ?

Thanks & Peace

1. Yeah that can possibly happen with any samper RAM when so much processing but no defrag has occured. There's no defrag so I guess "save often" is the key.

2. Don't leave the ZIP in when not in use. The CF has no moving parts to get damaged by the power surge when turned off/on/off. It's fine to leave it in. My CF card in my triton hardly hardly ever comes out. My CF card in mpc hardly ever comes out also.

I just installed the card reader ! When / if I ever get 1.20 on my XL I might just get a 1 or 2GB compact flash card to stay in the mpc, and if I need I'll use a SD card or something to transfer files if I ever setup a pc .

Thanks for droppin' knowledge Lamp .

Keep in mind that the internal ide card reader can only one card at a time dunno which slot has priority though, shopuld check the manual for that.
