Auto synch, virtual sampling, Ak.sys VSTi ?

I am pretty new in MPCs, considering buying a 4000 ... having some lame questions:

1) What's "virtual sampling" feature ? Does it mean mpc4000 can assign and play a (long) sample directly from disk, no load into RAM ?

2) Does ak.sys work as VSTi ... able to manage MPC directly from a sequencer such a Cubase ?

3) Does samples have a feature to be auto - snychronized it's tempo with song's BMP. eg. when tempo changes, sample changes it's speed too ?

If you get an MPC I wouldn't sequence in cubase...just my 2 cents

So here is the aswer by Akai guys:

1. The virtual sampling feature is being worked on for a future update, so
there is not any information about what the specifics will be, however you
do have the right idea as to what the feature will be.

2. AK.SYS is a stand alone program for editing and exchanging files between the MPC4000 and your computer. It doesn't run as a pluggin.


3. There is a feature called Beat Slicing that allows you to set up a loop
that will synchronise with the BPM of your sequence. Also there is a time
stretching function that also allows manipulation of sample time w/o
affecting pitch.
