MIDI issue....

ok....i hope i explain this clearly. I have an mpc 2000xl and a digi 002 rack. now....i control a proteus 2000 sound module via midi with the mpc (out of A and B of the mpc; into A and B of the module). i also want to control pro tools, but i obviously have no more outs on my mpc to do so. how do i remedy this? can i send something thru maybe on the 002 rack or the module?

Does the proteus really need both midi outs? Its a bad idea to let one device use up all your midi channels. I typically never use more than 4 midi channels on one device (although I could see using more if I only used one sound module). Then you can just use midi thrus to share midi channels of one of the outs. Other option is to use a midi splitter, but in essense its still doing the same thing sharing the same midi channels. If I were you, I'd just start only using one midi out for the proteus and one for the digi. Also keep in mind that you will probably need to share these in the future as you pick up more gear.
