Nah, i don't think so. I did some tests: my card is not corrupted and is FAT formatted. The cardreader in the MPC is ok and my pc cardreader is ok. No problems writing files to the cf card on my pc. I'm loosing files when writing to the Sandisk card IN the MPC.

what do you mean by losing files? They don't save? Or they disappear after they have been saved? Does changing the setting to overwrite same files help matters?

I don't know exactly when it happens. I save a project with the option replacing same files on. When I load the project the next time 8 samples are gone. Completely gone from the cf card.

They do however make an exm128 RAM which you would be paying out the ass for, and would be better off getting a kingston.

They don't even make that. It's a kingston card that akai just slapped their name on.

how many sandisk cards have you tried? does this happen to all of your sandisks? if not, and only tried one, then i would say that you have a faulty card. and get another one.

All you have to do is format it...not sure how to do it on the mpc, but just hook the CF card to the computer, right click it's icon, got to format, then format it to just FAT...not FAT and some number...alot of people get confused with that. Then the SanDisc should work fine.

I know how to format it on the computer and on the MPC itself
in fact I did both cards(the 32 mB akai one) and the sandisk side by side and the sandisk one always **** up

maybe I just got a bad card

I never formatted my sandisk at all, and it works perfectly. It was a brand new one too.

I'm having these same issues with samples just disappearing from my Sandisks and I can't seem to link it to anything I'm doing... at first I was sure I just hadn't learned the MPC well enough (which I'm sure is still true) .... my biggest problem seems to be that each time I save the 'Entire Memory' before shutting it down,,, often when I return, my programs and sequences weren't saved.... now, more recently, the samples have begun to disappear with no logical reason >> does anyone recommend a really reliable CF disk out there?... or know what I might be doing wrong when saving the 'entire memory'??,,, THANKS!! 10-4
