solution to timestrech

use pitch shift to the time you want and after its recorted use the q-slider pitch shift to get it back to normal, right?

all that is going to do is keep the sample at the original pitch with no changes. The q link sliders are just a more hands on way to adjust parameters such as pitch. It's the same results as using 16 levels or manual adjusting pitch in program mode. So basically you are pitching up and pitching down. No timestretch is happening dude. I suggest trying some software like wavelab, soundforge, adobe audition, cool edit, etc to timestretch. Ableton live has a really good timestretch too.

I talked to Akai support on the phone in regards to my dps12. I did ask about the next mpc 1000 update. All I got was that they know the mpc 1000 is due for another update, and that timestretch and zoning was something that was "suggested" for the next update. Pretty vague, so I dunno. I do have a feeling we may get it though.

yea, but changing pitch changes the time. i tried making the pitch higher which made it faster, then after recording recorded in pitch change, it seemed to work.

Yeah, you can do that so that it does fit time wise. I do it all the time, but it's not the same as timestretch. If you need the pitch to stay the same it's just not going to work. Adjusting the pitch so that it fits timewise can really put things outta tune too. That's why cats want real timestretch so bad.

what he is saying to ya is that timestrech keeps things in the same KEY and pitching changes the KEY of the sample

you go go more in depth but thats enough to know why time stretch is used

i understand but basically the q-slider is lika a pitch bend which dosnt change time, at least i think it worked fine, i know its more complicated. i have an mv 2 but ive been manly using the 1000 lately and i dont like going back and forth just for timestrech(which i rarly use), so this was another option until it gets updated.
