Iam recording from the 1k to my computer using a Creative extigy soundcard , and it sounds NOTHING like... what the mpc produces when I record it into my computer using Adobe Audition and my Creative Extigy soundcard, is it because of my soundcard?

Sorry but Soundblaster is total crap. You need a professional quality sound card. You should look into getting something from M-Audio or Edirol.

Check out m-audio audiophile 192

Will be a big step up from an extigy....if you need external then one of m-audio range or presonus firebox

When I mean recording to my computer, I mean...

Im plugging the MPC into my computer through a stereo out 2 sider into a 1 sider, with a 1/8 inch adapter into my mic in port..

See any problems or suggestions needed?

Going out of the main stereo out is a degree in sound! The 1-4 sounds better! But a little mixer or a stereopre of some sort will help the signal on the way in to the puter...

also an 1/8" plug in to your computer gives the worst quality compared to a 1/4" or xlr input. I would recommend a new sound card as it was mentioned.

Also, don't go to the mic jack! go to the 'line in' instead.
If they are the same on your sound card, make sure 'mic boost' is turned off.

Have the volume fairly high on the mpc, rather than using your computer to boost it up. Get a level meter going in your software and make sure the meter is almost to the top, but never actually to the top.

And then, yeah, ditch the creative labs products, they're not really considered pro quality no matter what it says on the box :).

(Although you could make a hit album with one anyway, sound quality don't matter as much as people think.)

that's your problem right there: "...into my mic in port"

only an 1/8" mic should be put into that port. You should use the Line In port.

Whenever i want to bring over a seq(s) quickly, i use the line in port on my computer and the quality of sound is never compromised.
