i was very active a few yrs ago but do to medical reasons i slowed alot, but i played at all events had a show of my own for 11/2 yrs on the net with streamong video live sets and acts station went down dooto copyright laws bullsht,
but i still get out once ina while todo house party's and trying to get out to clubs again, in due time thou.

i play evrything, it all depends on the gig, house techno, hiphop raer grooves(no new stuff i'play oldschool), 70's classic rock, soul, disco funk, oldies but goodies(please dont say you dont kno what these are, music your parents grew up on in the 50's and LA style oldies) you name it i play it , i'm like a mobile dj but with a more underground feel to my sets you'll hear classic stuff but not a lot of radio crap,

thats just my style i'm old like dat , i play for an older crowd who appreciates the music ,i try to stay away from under age party's not into the fighting and drama that goes with that type of crowd,

i'm a party dj

remember DJe.d.e for clasSICKS

thats a bit the way im too, i play my radio set really slow to start w/ some dionne warwick or some slow teddy pendergrass and work up some momentum by the end its breaks and disco...whatever party vibes feel right...im getting tired of teh requests for 50 cent.
"can i hear Cady Shop?"
i say. "no i don't even own it."
"cmon please play it"
"how? i don't even have it here w/ me."
oh sh!t the record is over and the next one isn't ready because you won't leave me alone, thats super!

one annoying biddie wanted to know what i was playing next as im wildly searching my crates for the right track
"whats next?"
i tell her, "im not sure"
"will you tell me what you are going to play before you play it??"
i respond, "aaragahhhuuhhhh..."

WTF? im sure that i appear busy but i get asked all kinds of crazy ish...does it come with the territory or do people not think??

'it comes with the territory'

hate to say it but , what i do is just ignore them as much as possible if you see them standing there just keep digin, you cant please evrybody, the way i do it is please the one that hired you and thats it, they pay you they'll get you more gig's , and people who like you will give you props at the end of the nite and thats when you slide them a bcard.

it 's hard some times to be a dj man , some people have NO RESPECT for the dj, it pisses me off.
but it's my job and hobbie and i wont give it up for nothing.

especailly when you get that one person who comes up and say thanks for playing that song i havent heard that since i was akid, thats the gtreatest feelin in the world that 's why i still do it .

about request man i dont kno how many times i've been asked for something that i dont own or never heard of thats on the radio, i dont even listen to radio, i play my records or make music i dont keep up with the joneses i couldnt tell you the top 1000 of the last decade and half.
i did a party for a family memeber for holloween ,i downloaded some sh!t they wanted to hear and played Cd's my first time ever playing cd"s, i was really thing about getting into that but i cant i love to lug my vinyl around it keeps me in shape thats the only exerise i get besides walking around the block with my son.

just dont trip on the people who ask for stuff what u going to do u aint got it. right

Me, I'll spin a specific set. I don't switch up on styles of music during a set. If you come to my House set and want to hear hip hop, you won't get it. Same with me spinning on a hip hop night and someone asks for Trance... it's not gonna happen buddy.
But in saying that, I'll spin disco with House and classic beats and breaks with hip hop.

Clubs, bars, and basement jams. Disco, soul, funk, Italo, boogie, old house, etc. Good music.

I play 80's at a local bar. All vinyl, and it gets packed believe it or not.

Most Friday nights I get a line out the door to get in, and before I started playing there, this spots Fri nights were dead. Then Sat. at the same spot I play everything but 80's and current top 40. So 70's classic rock, to Grover Washinton Jr. and Steve Miller.

It's a load of fun and lets me get out to play all of these records that I have been collecting that have been sitting in crates getting dusty.

Yah I get 50 cent requests on my 80's night almost every week. I say, "I'm only playing 80's tonight"..."oh, so you don't have The Ying Yang Twins?"
