Loading sounds on the MPC 2000

I have never used a MPC 2000 before and nobody can tell me if its like the 2000xl when it comes to loading flippies or zips. Do I have to format them so the 2000 can read the sounds and also do they have to be a certain file type? I have a large zip collection that area all wav. files and I just wat to make sure I can use them

- Format your disks on the computer first.
- If I'm not mistaken... the 2K only plays .snd not .wav files. You might have to convert them.

the MPC2000 CAN read .wav files and .snd files you can make .snd files only if you sample a sound. No conversion that I am aware of.

yep! if its on a MPC2K formated disk !

They were formatted on the PC and saved on the zip that way.

i never formatted any of my zips on the mpc and they work fine

damn, you dont need to format a disk that has snd or wav file already on it. you can simply load and save if disk space space permits. but if you are starting off with like a brand new zip then formating would be in your best interest only because the save and load functions are so much more likly to run with out a hitch.

You can save as a wav, when you go to the save a sound option in the save menu, where it says .snd highlight it and turn the data wheel, wav will come up as an option and you can save the individual sound as a wav.

That option to "save as wave" came out in OS version 1.7.
What OS is being ran?

Are your files in folders? If so the 2000 will not open them. I have a shit load of sounds on cd rom but my friend can't use them because they are filed in folders, and the 2000 can't read them. Only the 2000 XL
