Me personally, I would always use the MPC for sequencing. What type of midi interface are you using? It is alot easier to do your track on the MPC and then record the song to a wave editing program such as Sound Forge or Wavelab. Save it as a .wav and then import audio to Sonar to lay your vocals down IMO. Also if you have OS 3.10 you can save your sequence on your MPC floppy and open it in Cakewalk, but you may have to reset your channels.

The MPC will have to be the master...Sonar can't generate MTC..It will chase to it though..It generally locks pretty good as long as you are using some type of midi interface. The MIDISPORT 2x2 usb interface locks real good.. It's about $70 at the Guitar Center.. Good luck
