what are the settings of the scsi ID and terminator on the back of the zip drive ?
Dit you first power up the zip driven and then the MPC ?

yeah i did those steps and when i tried to load sounds from zip drive i got screen"scsi not ready! the scsi would show no sighns of life it would run then shut off for abt a hr and then it would juist shut off without setting its self up! so i believe its not he fuse!

rey turning off everything, disconnecting it all, flipping the switches, then hooking it back up.
I thought I had a dead zip, but I just unhooked it, flipped the two switches back and forth, hooked it back up, and it worked fine. If that doesn't help, try hooking up the zip drive to something else (a PC) and see if it works.
BTW, if you format the Zip Disk on the MPC, a PC won't be able to read it, so keep this in mind when troubleshooting.

mpc should be off when scsi cord is being hooked up, turn on drive then mpc
