I have had 1K for 6 months and all the pads work well except for PAD 01. The velocity isn't always 127, unless I hit a certain part of the pad. I raised the sensitivity of all my pads to 16 (highest) and PAD 01 is still not working that well.

Now i use the FULL LEVEL feature and no matter how hard or how soft I hit the pad, the velocity is always 127. The problem is solved, but is this happening becuase my PAD 01 is starting to damage from all the banging?

if its the pad u use most then yeah it can wear down.

i've never been convinced that my pads were that consistent.

u know that full lkevel makes vel. always 127 right?

Yeah, my pad 1 is screwed as well, just because it was the pad I always used the most (and probably hit hardest). I just use it to put sounds I can place with the step editor on now, as for live pad striking its pretty much useless.

Rather then hitting the pads you guys should try pushing the pads. It gives you much more controll on velocity and is in no way harmful to the pads.

a pad should not wear down after 6 months. the replacement parts ar fairly cheap. under 40 bucks i think.

pads break in/wear down over time.
i have 3 less sensitive pads on mine (i always use these pads for kick, snare, hihat).
i just went to the pad screen and balanced it out and things are much better.

and remember, dont just set all the pads to 16 on the pad adjust screen if all the pads react different. you will always notice that one pad sucks compared to the others. balance the settings so that all the pads react relatively the same.

Now that I use the FULL LEVEL feature, I'm getting used to pushing the pads. The reason why you hit the pad is to make sure it reaches it's peak. But, if you have the FULL LEVEL feature on you should get used to pushing the pad. This will definitely make your pads last longer... 8)

i've posted this before, but yeah, my pad 01 went to sheet as well.

pissed me off also, so i sent it in for repair. you just need your reciept--no warantee crap.

4 months later, it came back. works pretty well, but needless to say, i made myself use a bit more finesse from then on...
