Output Board Disappointment!!!

I finally decided to attempt installation...removed the backing plate for the 8 outs, and hit a brick wall, the mounting plate was too wide and it didn't have the same fitted shape as the backing plate but i didnt realise all these indeferences until after i removed the SMPTE IN/OUT that i thought needed moving to get the end 2 holes lined up with it, but nooooooooooooooooo...it was out of line by at least 3/4 inch, any ideas where i can get a mounting plate that fits the 2000xl...thanx.

Looks like you bought the board for the S2000...

But don't worry, it works in the MPC too. You can install the board without the metal plate (I did). To do so, you'll gonna need some nuts like those used to attach the jacks of the SMPTE to the back panel. You can buy such nuts in an electronics shop or you can scourge some from another piece of equipment (you actually don't need more than 2 > let's say 3 to be safe).

I solved it by unscrewing the SMPTE connectors, wasn't using them anyway.

I scourged the board of the S3000XL I owned at that time (wasn't using that sampler anyway - I've sold it now).

The board in the S3000XL works in an MPC2000XL, but you have to replace the ribbon cable because that one in an S3000XL is too short to fit in the MPC. I have explained this on this forum in the past.

To fit the board in the MPC I used nuts from BNC connectors (which you can buy in an electronics shop). These nuts are the same ones used for panel mounting a jack connector.

U install in a XL or a 2000 classic? I installed the board in my 2k classic like three weeks ago no problem.... they dind't include the mounting screws but I had plenty that fit.
