Sampling and listening, it doesn't matter. I use to be a scratch and trick dj in high school. Curved gave you more finger room on vinyl to do tricks, that's about it for me.

my straight arm vestax pdx 2000, are nearly impossible to make skip, can't say that for 1200's though..

If youre not gonna scratch, Id go with the traditional s arm. If set up correctly, they pretty much never skip on normal playback.

i got numark ttx's. ive used both extensively but prefer the straight arm. it is more skip resistant and easier to cue with.
