I sampled a 2 bar loop, and I only want the bassline...

When filtering basslines, do you guys filter it to where it is completely bass, or do you filter it to where the bass is more visible than the other instruments but you can still kind of hear them?

what ever sounds better! i usually go for the BASSY version though for i am a bass fiend, Bravo will confirm that for you! :D

though it does depend on how u wanna rockit, too basy might make it fight with the kick drum, so u got to find a good balance.

if you want the bassline only, turn down the high all the way down, mid eq can be cut or boosted, but the low eq turn way up. Sample it then filter it waaaay down, monster bass.... Beatminerz style.

Also copying the bassline, or even just a few accented notes of it, with a synth patch & layering that with the sample can help.
