So I am getting into the production game and have the following:
-laptop with 1.5 gigs of ram with Reason 3.0, Acid Pro, FL5, Sound Forge 5
-MPC 2000xl
-2 Technic 1200's
-Pioneer DJM707 DJ mixer
-Yamaha EXM66 Powered mixer/amp
-2 yamaha MR12 speakers (300 watts each)
I am looking at getting a keyboard but I am a little confused with MIDI and i have searched like crazy....
SO from what I have read I will need a MIDI controller (which is a keyboard with no sounds built in and all it does is sends MIDI info to the MPC or whatever it is hooked up to)...ANd then dont I need something to generate sounds for the keyboard to use such as a proteus or something?
I'm kinda confused because I'm used to older keyboards that had built in sounds and everything all in one.
Do they make a MIDI keyboard where everything is in the keyboard and you could just hook up that device to a cpu or MPC, or do I have to buy a MIDI controller like the radium 49 and then a sound module like the proteus?
THANKS!
