I was under the impression DJ format was hardcore Atari and 2x S950's.

He even said his current album was made with this setup with no mention of any MPC....

yeah...I've already talked about it in other threads. I use it every once in a while but not enough to keep. Now if cats are lowballin me when I'm shoppin it then I'll keep it for nostalgia's sake...but the money I get from it should help me pay off a credit card or two.

I think you're on point there (as far as the tracks Redman produced). He says it on Dare Iz A Darkside:

"Basically"
"Ride on my MP-60 and let the S-950 squeeze your titties"

"Green Island"
"You could tell the tracks was fat from the work of my MP-60"

Also, Rubberoom's "Architechnology" (MPC-60 and ASR-10) and EC Illa's first LP was done on a 60 I believe (for those who follow Chicago hiphop beyond Kanye, Common, Da Brat, Crucial Conflict, etc).

I wish I knew that when I saw him in the elevator.

Thanks for the confirmation.

Naw, sometimes cats call it an MP for short. It's a little cooler I guess. 8)

...besides, saying MPC would have messed up the rhythm of the rhyme. Too many syllables.
