which scsi!!!!!!!!!

im abt to order a few external zips on ebay! does it matter what the id number is in back of it some say 2-3 some say 5-6 which ones to get????????

Well, your MPC is automtically set at 6, so if you bought the 5/6, then it'd have to be set to 5. So if you're planning on getting a few of them, you could only use one 5/6 and two 3/4 maximum. But why do you need more than one (except to not have to keep on taking the disks in and out when you're moving files from one disk to the other)?

Damn, I didn't know about these ID numbers and I just ordered a scsi zip drive for my xl . Hope that shit works !

It should. Most of 'em are 5/6, so you just gotta set it to 5 'cause your mpc is 6. Also, you need to make sure you got the TERM switch set to on (unless you have more SCSI drives linked to it, then make sure its off).

xl manual pg 189 - 190.

xl scsi id is 6.

please stop guessing and read.

Did the seller say that the drive worked with the MPC or did you just buy any drive?

u can set the SCSI to whatever as long as they match each other... u can change the SCSI ID # on the back of the External Drive

unless its different with Zips cause i just have a hard drive and External CD Burner
