I typed up some more stuff on MIDI last weekend: http://stereoroid.com/sounds/mpc1000/mpcmidi1.php
OK, it might be a bit much..!

Just the MicroKorg? You can get away with this:
Hook up both MIDI cables at the Korg to the MPC
- Korg Out -> MPC In 1,
- MPC Out A -> Korg In
- Find out what MIDI channel the Korg receives on: usually defaults to 1.
Set the MPC's Soft Thru to "Off"
On the MPC: Select a Track, then Record into the MPC1000 sequencer while playing the Korg keyboard.
To play back: set the MIDI field to "1A" or whatever the channel was +"A" (You hooked up to Out A)
The rest is detail: record everything you do on the Korg!!
- Program Changes (change sounds)
- Control Changes (when you use the wheel or turn a knob).
- anything else you can think of!

could anyone please explain it once more in detail, i searched the forum, was on that midi-page, i got both hooked up as said, the micro is synced with the mpc clock, i can see when i play back the sequence that it has recorded the midinotes, but it doesn´t send´em back to the micro (no sounds coming out of it - mpc is assigned to line 2, micro line 1 on my mixer)...i read the manuals and so on and i don´t get it.
thanks for your support.

You have to set your midi track in the mpc to output on midi channel 1A (if thats where your microkorg is , if not try 1B) , it's in the lower right corner below "mute " in the main screen.
Greetz...
