before we all tell you to read some midi tutorial or something...

you just gotta use 'midi thru' ie. go out jack A into the motif, same as now, but put another cord from 'midi thru' on the motif to the new toy. (midi in on the v synth.)

then you have to set up one of them (motif/vsynth) to receive midi on some channel other than 1 (eg. 2 :) ).

you will choose which one to send to by choosing A1 vs A2.

make sense?

now, go read some midi tutorial or something ! :P

You can leave the motif on midi A, midi B out to mophatt midi in, mophatt midi thru to roland rack in. Now you have 16 midi channels of motif sounds and you can split the sounds of the racks, say channels 1-8 mophatt, 9-16 roland. Not too sure about the roland but the Emu in multi mode allows you to assign a different preset to each channel. They just have to be aligned to the mpc- channel 1 to 1B, ch. 2-2B and so on. Hope this helps. Also, stereoroid.com has a tutorial for linking up midi gear to the mpc.
