Zip Problems

Once again how are you so sure that it is your disks ? have you put them already in another zipdrive ? How can you be sure that your zip drive is perfectly ok if I does't read anything from the disks ? What you should try is to save a beat to a zipdisk (formatted on a pc) and then try to read the contents of that disk on a zipdrive connected to a pc. That way you can already see whether the drive saves correctly. Also try to save some wav files on a zip via a drive connected to a pc and then try to read that zame zip in your mpc so you can check whether your drive reads correctly. Thry previous tests with one of your current zip disks and with a brand new one.

I have a brand new zipdrive from iomega...FOR THE LAST TIME IT IS NOT THE DRIVE.....I REPEAT IT IS NOT THE DRIVE...the drive is fine.....i have one working zip which reads it fine.....and also..i formed that zip with the MPC...so i dont know if that makes a difference or not...and besides i can't formulate that zip with my MAC anyway because i don't have scsi connection with my g4.....so that eliminamtes that notion....i just need to know why my zip's are erased or is saying error message...and also let me know what a card reader is too...

A card reader is the storage option as used in the mpc1000, it's basically a drive you build in instead of the internal zip or floppy and that allows you to store your data on a cf card.

sounds like the disks are somehow corrupted.

these things happen. a way to avoid this is to back everything up.

this is no secret. you are working with a machine that is somewhat like a computer. and from time to time for whatever reasons-- disks, programs, files etc can get corrupted.
