hey whatsup.

got a problem here... when booting up my brand new mpc 1000, it loads up a bunch of annoying presets and stuff from the internal memory in the machine.

how do i get rid of this?

but thell still be some onboard sounds... so do what i did start it up dont load a thing keep it all blank. then save entre memory OVER the INTERNAL memory and instead of 300 k youll only have 32 k of your internal used by default

like i said re write over your internal with nothing.. its that simple i just did it the other day when i noticed a bunch of wasted on board space. also turn auto load off. and if you dont use the crap kits akai gave you toss them in the trash and delete em

Start the mpc w/o a cf, then do what sonik said to. See if that works.

just cut off the autoload from internal mem. sure they will still be there but what does it matter? whos gonna know the difference? its really not a big deal, buy a 1gig cf and you are good to go. or maybe 2gigs if you can swing it.

My MPC1K has the standard 16MB RAM. Before I load any data, how come my wave free = 11.4MB and seq free = 1664KB?? This only totals around 13MB? Where's the other 3megs gone? OS maybe?
