Wu_Question

Quick question, while going through my collection today, relized I had two original protect your neck/ method man 12inchs that I bought in the mid 90s...

There is one mix of method man that has an extra verse.. My question
is was this from a demo or something, because the quality is subpar for that one mix compared to the the Protect mixes and Method Mixes...

Anyone know what I am talking about...

If anyone wants I'll prolly put the track on yousendit.. cuz the last verse, is still sick (mix quality beside)... Oh and its called the home grown version...

2nd question is, are these extra versions on represses of the singles or not? Don't really care about worth, so value of these means nothing to me...

I just wish I had my original Chessboxin...

All the old wu shit sounded subpar even on cd. Listen to 36 chambers, the mix is garbage.

I believe there were two different pressings of this record.

ahhh it depends on who your taking to... I grew up listening to tapes and shit, i bought wu tang forever on double cassete.. Its all reletive..
I listen to the original on cd, and it still is excellent, in terms of sound.. Wu breathed life (along with alot of other cats) with their sound...

Anyways in terms of the mix, compared to the other mixes, its just not as clear...

I'll just post it later when I have time...

In terms of the two seperate pressings, I know Protect was released before Loud released the 12's I am talking about... hmmm... Thanks for the info

I saw that cassette single and decided to give it a try. That's how I found out about the WU. I actually wasn't impressed and I wrote them off as being wack. haha Then a friend put me onto the album when it came out, and I loved that ish from that point on.

on gza's liquid swords, the vocals are shitty the whole way through, sounds like a cheap computer mic

Its funny, that whole gritty sound, is why I still listen to liquid swords and alot of Wu's early works...imo still sounds better then 75% of the stuff being released today (that even includes recent wu solo work), because it had a feeling it too it, cat's couldn't mess with the sound then or now.. Rza is a genius when it came down to that sound, heads say he got stagnant, but his sound got him working in film today...

One of the tops on my list...

I really enjoyed The Gritty Wu era.. I Wish they went back to it...
