i'm new here im thinkin about getting a used mpc 1000 but i was taking a look at the roland sp 606(cheaper) and now im not sure which i wanna get. What do u guys think

buy an mpc and never look back..

youll be working really hard to get that sound w/ the 606 when you could get it right out of the box w/ the mpc...

all the crappy online remarks aren't worth a toot..imma say though once i got my mpc i toatally understood what the hype is about..w/ that said get an mpc 60. its got the sequencer, the sound and is a cheaper alternative to a full blown 1,2,3,4k's...if you want hiphop sound you can't really do much better to get started.. as a toatal newb you might wanna spend on some drumkit disks for it so you don't have to chop your drums until youve got a feel for the mpc... as a newbie there are so many options available...its alluring trying to save money on gear by buying the cheaper product, don't, its only headaches...im not going to run the specs down and compare blahblahblah...
who uses the 606?? i have no idea...
who uses the mpc series? nearly everyone worht a da/\/\n...

Looks like a toy, has a lot of effects, and is pretty weak without the Cakewalk software which comes with it...



It has a colourful interface, but do not be fooled...

It is reccomended that you use the 1K with a PC because of its lack of useful features.

VERDICT: Try out both of them at your local music store and you will instantly know which one is better for you...

Personally, I think you should get a 1K...you won't regret it!
