Syncing Logic Express and the MPC 2kxl

Okay, I've tried everything. No matter what I do, I still get that millisecond of delay at the beginning of every recording that I make.

So, I did some posting on some other boardsI learned of a technique where you can test your amount of recording dely by doing a loopback test. Tried, got my results, adjusted the recording delay parameter by that amount and still I get that millisecond of delay at the beginning of every recording.

I really don't wan't to have to add the extra bar or some of empty space to the beginning of each sequence in order to get a proper sync. This then entails having to go back and delete that space afterwards (mighty tedious).

Has anyone accomplished a proper sync between these two pieces?

Maybe if you let it count in for a bar before you play it. Sometimes when theres alot of info on bar 1 beat 1, logic and most other software sequencers will not sync up properly for a second.

So, I should let the MPC count in, Logic, or both?

You are syncing through midi clock, right? If not, you should be, with Logic as the master and mpc as slave. You can set it up in the synchronization preferences.

If you are, then let logic count in for a bar before it starts. Just press record (*) then press enter after it clicks once or twice to take it out of record but have it play.

All of your play and stop controls will be controlled by Logic and not the mpc. Hope this helps.

Guess that's where I was messing up. I was using the MPC as the master. Figured that if I use the MPC as the master, then it would be mad easy to have Logic sync to the tempo of the MPC rather than having to set the tempo in Logic and risk a problem due to slight tempo changes by the MPC (if you know what I mean).
