Logic Roll Call

I am thinking of switching up DAW's.


If, you are a logic user. Please give an opinion.


I am switching from Digital Performer.

i switched from logic to Dig Perf.

very happy, and the crossgrade was well priced (actually I upgraded from Audiodesk). I mostly use DP now, but logic comes out every now and again. The biggest downfall with switching is, of course, the learning curve (be it long or not) - ie. a few functions are done differently - expect to be down to minimal musical output at least for a coupla days.

Both are excellent programmes.

logic is the bomb. i have never used digital performer, so i cant make a comparison but i used a copy on my pc i think it was version 5. and i loved it. i like the way you can tailor the interface and enviroment. the fx are great. and the vsti's rock. str8 outta the box its a crazy music production tool.

Were using Logic in college and it is rubbish. U have to do 10 things to get 1 thing done.

i don't buy this "logic if you are doing midi dp if doing audio" any longer. The two programmes can do the same things. it's a matter of user interface, workflow and preference.

why not download the logic demo and try it out for size. tha's the only thing to do in this situation.

Dasoof got it right, Logic is more complicated than it needs to be.

dps all the way. I use reason as a sampler/synth and track right into the deeps.

I really, extra, want the dps24, they are just hard to find right now.

I use Logic. I don't find anything about it is too complicated. It is perfect for the way I make the type of music I do.

Then you're not doing it right....See @ Scratch Magazine Issue 6...it can even beat Pro Tools for that matter (easy to work with)

What do YOU like? (what sequencer)....always open for other opinions.

I worked with Cubase SX(2) as well....liked that too. Only thing is, is that I own the mighty Yamaha 01x, and that works (strangely enuff) better with Logic (although Steinberg and Yamaha joined forces..)

anyone know how to send mmc to the mpc in logic 7?

piece o shit dont work, im really trying to get into the program, but cant get around simple shit like i do in PT.

look under "song settings" its in the first menu along the top.

yo i found the actual settings under Pref>Midi>Midi Sync....clicked send mmc, set my mpc to receive (just like in other programs), i match the bpms and press play, and the track just stops, or it plays one pad on my MPC instead. im really trying to get into Logic cause I KNOW theres some serious power there.
