Man i ain't no fool for speaking my mind....that's why hiphop sucks d!ck right now as everybody adopts the commercialist sound and poor artistic quality cus they're afraid to think for themselves........ok the true reason I feel this beat is bad --for one the sh!t is just a loop....it's pitched down great.....no skill required for that one.....next the music in the background is horrendous......3 - the beat and the vocals mismatch entirely off beat.....4 the quality and the pattern of the drums was horrendous.....i'm sorry but the way I see it is don't go displaying examples of unfinished material unless you're prepared to receive criticism in its most gruesome form.......I'm being harsh because as I said before too many people don't listen with their souls and think for themselves.....everybody wanna spare each others feelings when what it really comes down to is the fact that criticism can only help one become better at mastering their craft!
I catch mad criticism from tons of people every day of my life not only as a beatmaker but as an artist at my job by my boss and as a student in college by my professors....and when they tell me that what i'm doing sucks I don't go crying about that shit... I just reapproach it from various angles until i've stumbled on a better solution.

:D speak your mind homie. i personally dont need 50 variations and subtleties when listening to hip hop beats, or super intricate chops/drums, or any of that. i like straight loops and all that so this beat sounds good to me. i dont think anybodys tryin to spare feelings, i hope heads are honest anyway, but i think some cats just like the beat (without the offbeat acapella). not everyone is goin for that super intricacy, and 90% of the time the most genius thing you can turns out to be the simplest ;)

gimme a RUI too, im blazed  [/url]

WORD.

I think I should start posting my beats in the 60 Forum. Well, since everyone else is, and you guys give good feedback.

Nobody's crying about it. I know some people will like it some don't. Whatever. I liked it.

To make it clear once again - I did not intend to do any scratching(I was trying to get the acapella straight) and I know I didn't put the acapella on right anyway. That's what I seem to be getting a lot of shit for. Maybe if I post just the beat you might like it more. Or maybe not. Doesn't really matter.

debar - All it is is a drum loop and the other loop. Lazy? Not artistic? Maybe. Up to you.

Dude, you ain't got nothing to prove, you don't need to justify anything. You got some negative feedback, you also got some positive. It's your art. If it's closer to your ideal of what you want your beats to sound like, and if you like it...good for you.

I hear what your saying about the accappela and such. I post beats where I know things are messed up, but I want feedback anyway. Usually I'm concentrating on something else in the beat, practicing mixing, or getting drums to sound a certain way, etc. and I don't care about the stuff that's "off," cause I wasn't really concerned about those aspects at the time anyway. I just wanted to see what people thought.

Just roll with the punches. Hopefully this will give you more steam to work on your music harder. Keep at it.

Peace.

Also, Some of the dudes that have given me some really harsh feedback, when I heard some of the stuff that they really liked and gave props to, I had to shake my head, cause it was the worst ish I ever heard. In some cases the stuff they really liked had the same "problem" that my beats had and even worse so I was like :? ... whatever.

Then I thought, "why am I taking some dude's feedback so seriously. They're obviously into ish that is nowhere near what I like or what I do." From that point on I never took people's criticism to heart. I just took it as another angle to look at my ish. From a perspective from some cat that has no F'in clue what the track I'm doing is about, and will never feel it. Who knows maybe some of them just don't like how I come across and want to be a stick up my culo. Nonetheless the opinion is valid, but just not worth losing sleep over.

Lo Pass Filter wrote:Your whack... What is wrong with that Dstrunction jam. Is that a kick, or a snare, or wtf?

If you listen closely he does have a kick, snare and hi hat. He also has some other percussion that sounds like a march sound. Could be a pitched down snare or something. This was a decent beat. Nothing "wrong" with it at all.
