Ok....I must sound like a complete retard cos I'm overseeing something, but all of a sudden I dunno....(damn those free grass over here in Holland!! )

I loaded sounds on my card, loaded them into the MPC, made a song in Logic, saved the song, turned all things off...

Now I opened up the song again, and it is playing different kicks/ snares, cos it's playing that horrible techno bank that's standard in my MPC 1000. Although I loaded all my sounds again with my flash card, it does not play them....

I am pretty sure I am overseeing something.....Can someone help this fool out?

Many thanks!! :P

You said you saved the song, did you also save the program(s) you made the song with?

ah.....that's it.
I knew that, but since I thought it was wise to bring my mpc manual with me on vacation (and I lost it) I'm not able to read it that often (dowloaded a pdf version of it though)

What's the cleverest way to save the programs? (how do you guys work?)
Can always use tips from guys like you (who are more experienced)

thanks! :D

Save song (.all) or sequence (.MID) and save all programs and sounds (.APS)
And save each beat youre working on in it's own folder. This is absolutely nescessary otherwise you risk to corrupt data of one beat with samples of another song.

Ok, so I have to save it in my Logic folder? Now it's clear to me why I keep losing my songs....

Or do you guys don't use a softh sequencer, and you save it another way?

I have replaced my 32 mb flash card with 128 mb, so I can save as much kicks/snares/samples as possible, so that I only have to load one card for all my songs. Is that the way you work too?

I'm talking MPC here, for every beat I make on the MPC I create a folder on my cf card and store all data of that song in that folder.

hmmm....that's sense, but I don't know if that will give problems when loading into an external sequencer like Logic. Will have to try.

Thanks for thinking along with me :D
