updateing os

i just brought a multi card reader to install this week in my mpc dose any body know if i should upgrade to the new os 1.20 befor instllation

I installed a card reader about a month or so ago. I was going to install 1.20, had it saved to MS etc. But I read some shit on here recently where some people were having small issues with it (not with a zip drive installed, but a card reader). I don't have any problems the way 1.14 is working right now. The only advantage you will get with 1.20 is being able to use large (1GB+) cards and not have to partition them. Right now I only have a 256mg card, but I'll get a 1gb card soon and when I do I don't mind having two 512mb partitions. Better that than run into problems. But then again, you might install 1.20 and run perfectly, who knows...

well 256mg is alot of memory that card will last you a bit of time was it hard putting in the drive. i think im gonna update it to be on the safe side

The issues there are with the os 1.20 are related to the fact that it doesn't recognize zipdrives with an older firmware. I run 1.20 since I installed my card reader and it's working absolutely fine ... so far *knocks on wood*

Try both. If 1.2 works cool, if you have problems, go back to 1.14.
