I keep getting this error when i try to save "to match files". My disk is half full (zip 100), however my pc thinks it is totally full. Any ideas?

My disks only have 400 files on them. Also, there is no mention of the "to match files" error message in any of these posts.

I have gone through all the posts but found no mention of the "to match files" error message!?! Where is the mention of that specific error message?

Lets get this straight.
You originally said you "try to save "to match files". " No mention of what that actually was. Is it an error message? Menu selection? No until later did you mention an `error message` (which I know it is not an actual MPC error message). Even DrumTek tried to coax more info out of you with his post, but you still did not cooperate.
Regardless of the exact numbers, windows will report the disk full if it runs out of directory space. It may be less than 500 since windows can use 2 directory entries (a long entry that references the actual short entry). This is still likely the right answer, but you apparently did not even bother to check to see if this was true by deleting a few files and adding a few to see if the error message appears again, or even by using a different disk to see if it is replicated.
Lastly this is not even MPC related. If you have further complaints take it to the correct forum. Don't like it? Take your PC to a repair shop where they will charge you 49/hr to tell you there is nothing wrong.

I was working on a sequence. When I went to save the sequence to disk, after naming it, I got an error message that said "to match files". The file would not save. The zip disk was half empty and there was no file with that name anywhere else. I tried to use another disk with the same result. Later, using another disk, i went to save and had the "to match files error" come up again.

Sounds like a OS glitch to me. Make sure you have the latests OS installed and if you do have the latest OS installed you should have an authorized repair shop have a look at it, but make sure they give free estimates. Alotta technicians will rape you if you sleep on them (no pun). Some will even tamper with ur unit and create more problems so dont sleep.

Hey, cheers for that. I over wrote OS v 1.72 with os 1.5 and so far it is ok! I've doe about a dozen sequences and they're all saving. All the data is the same as it was on the disk. Kind of weird error, will look at the OS 1.5 documentation and see what it says.
