Just tell me this one more thing about the MPC 1k VS 2k....

At the moment, from what I've read, I could almost just go either way with these two machines (the MPC 2KXL or the MPC 1K).....

2K's are going cheap S/H, have a few extra sampling and sequencing features, a bigger interface, known as fairly tried and true etc...

1K's are portable, a few extra filters, have USB and smart media, built in FX, user reports fairly positive overall etc....

But I don't think that anyone has given a definitive answer to which of these MPC's has upper hand in sound quality? Might just help me to decide.

Is the 1K, being the cheapest in price, compromised a little in the sound department like the Triton LE is compared with the Triton Classic (a fairly big difference)? Is it a very noticable difference in general?

Since the ASR-X sound is the main sound that I know, how do MPC's compare with that?

They Both operate At the Same sample Rate Mate.

they both have a different sound, but you can't say 1 is better than the other. I prefer the sound on the 1k over the 2k, but some prefer the 2k over the 1k. Its all up do you if you get either machine and use it, and stop looking at what someone else is doing with another machine you will go further with yours.

Personaly the ASR-x sounds better and has doper effect but ASRx segencer sucks! I have both and I really love the effects and sound of asrx but mpc2k is just so much more friendly.

the 1k is clearer and has a more defined low end than the xl but still a little bit darker than a cd

the xl is also kinda dark but is a little smoother and somehow more together sounding than the 1k. at the moment it is also a more familiar sound to hip hop listeners, which can be good or bad, ya know?

they both sound good. i have both at the moment and i cant even decide which one to keep. it's like for some beats id want an xl kind of sound and for some beats i want a 1k sound. theyre different, that's all there is to say about their respective sound qulaities really.
