Technical questions for the MPC2000xl and the MPC2000

I have a quick question from people that have a internal card reader on their
mpc2000 .
1st. I created a few tracks and my card which is 256mb is almost full
I took the card out and put it into my external reader and went to
copy the files onto my computer, so that I could back it up on c-dr.
During the transfer it keeps asking me if i want to replace files
that have the same name but the file size is a little bigger or smaller
I choose not to have the files replaced because I know that if I go to
ever load that program and sequence back into the mpc it's not going
to find the original file that I replaced.
2nd. I check the computer and the folder that I copied my card to and
itdoes not have all the files in it becauseI guess if you don't replace
the files it does not copy them.
3rd. I always make folders on my mpc so that every track that I make
has it's own directory of sequences and programs.
Has this happened to anybody else and what would be the best solution
to get around this besides copying to external zip which means I still have to deal with zip disk ???? [/b]

Are you using sounds that are already saved on your drive?

Try to avoid that, but it should matter if you are saving them in different folders. Try saving the MPC folders to a different location your computer.

yes ? i am using files that I either have in a certain drum program.
Say for instance I have a program called hip hop drums. I create a sequence
save it with the program to it's own folder and then use that same program
to create another sequence and save it to it's own folder. Now when transferring to computer it asks if I want to replace the sounds. I will try
to save the folders to different folders on the computer and see what happens
thanks for the reply
