Step Edit

Yo I never used the step edit function while making a beat. what does it do exactly and what are the advantages?

step edit is where you sample records and apply fx and stuff. like play your guitar in the outputs and plug the reverb into the SMPTE, etc.

I thought though that it had something to do with when when u makin a sequence like piece by piece in slow motion. u know what i mean step by step bar by bar. Thats what I thought it was i just never seen the use in doing it. Ive never used it

that is what it is step edit means basicly instead of pressing play and record and you input the note in the sequencer while in record mode. lets say you wanna put a snare on every 2 and 4th of a bar. you hit the snare on 1of 2 and then you change the time to 1 of 4 and hit the snare then just press play and it will play back like you enter it. i hope you under stand that cause it was hard to explain if not check your manual

think of it kinda like spellcheck on your computer. you can go in and finetune and change each note. you can change its placement, decay, duration, volume etc.

It lets you get mad precise with each individual note. you can use it how you said, or use it to EDIt whats been inputted, step by step....thus STEP EDIT.
