Keyboard melody to MPC 1000

I am using a Yamaha PSR-sumthin or other. I want to send a melody that I play from the keyboard to the MPC and place it on a track. Is there a way to do it without the use of softwares?

Question #2 I have loaded some drum kits onto my MPC. However, when I try to open them, they will not open. I can load up the folder and the instrument samples will scroll, but when I go back to PRG the kit is not there. Any ideas???

if u want your keyboard sounds to sequence on the mpc all u got to do is hook it up through midi. read your mpc manual it a bible
